DSR to host "text to donate" campaign for Riley's Children's Hospital during this weekend's U.S. Nationals in Indianapolis

September 02

Don Schumacher Racing (DSR) is encouraging NHRA fans to join its team in support of Riley Hospital for Children by donating $5 in a “text to donate campaign” during this weekend’s U.S. Nationals at Lucas Oil Raceway at Indianapolis.

NHRA fans can donate $5 to Riley Hospital for Children by texting RILEY to “90999” until Sept. 7, 2011. To date, DSR has raised more than $130,000 for Riley with its Open House and Bowling for Riley charity events.

“It’s just fantastic that we can use today’s technology and allow the great NHRA race fans to support such a terrific organization in Riley,” team owner Don Schumacher said. “We at DSR have supported Riley for many years now and we hope that NHRA fans will join our team, drivers and sponsors and rally around this $5 text drive.”

DSR drivers Tony Schumacher, Antron Brown, Spencer Massey, Matt Hagan and Johnny Gray visited patients at Riley’s new Simon Tower Sept. 1, and drag racing’s largest team opened its doors for its sixth annual Open House Sept. 2. The Open House event featured both a live and silent auction with more than 24 unique items available to bid with all proceeds going to Riley.
