NHRA’s Legendary drivers – from Garlits to Glidden, and from Bernstein to Force – have put together some historic stretches of dominance over their peers, and in the last decade another name was added to that list: Tony Schumacher.
Schumacher, driver of the U.S. Army dragster, put together his own historic stretch of dominance in the 2000s with two third-place finishes (2002-03), a second-place finish (2000) and six straight championships from 2004-09.
Schumacher won championships in just about every way possible, from his record-setting 2008 season (15 wins, 76-9 round-win record) to his jaw-dropping comeback in 2006 that culminated with “The Run,” and fans can now relive it all via a just-released DVD: A Decade of Dominance: The Making of a Champion.
The DVD, available for $19.99, includes in-depth interviews with Tony’s family, his friends, his competitors and others who have influenced him and know him best. It also includes plenty of racing footage, recounting many of the 67 wins – including a Top Fuel-record-tying eight at the prestigious Mac Tools U.S. Nationals – that make him the winningest driver in the history of the Top Fuel category.
Fans can shop for additional selections in NHRA’s extensive DVD Library at the NHRAStore.com.
