  • Ron Capps leads DSR after day one of qualifying at the NHRA New England Nationals, closing out Friday in the provisional No. 2 spot
  • Capps powered the patriotic NAPA Brakes Dodge Charger SRT Hellcat to the quickest pass of the opening Funny Car session, and second-quickest of Q2, amassing five bonus points
  • Matt Hagan and Tommy Johnson Jr. join Capps in the top half of the Funny Car field
  • Johnson earned two bonus points for racing to the second-quickest pass of Q1
